Celebrate the winter solstice and Candy Cane Lane with us! We'll have more hot chocolate and a safer and smoother course.

At the finish line you will get hot chocolate, candy canes, kettle corn, and an LED light up finisher medal (if signing up for the 5K only!).
Dress up in holiday costumes, holiday light necklaces, light up or reflective running gear, or all of that!!

However, please be advised and slow down or exercise extreme caution in all areas and at all times. After all, it is a trail run, and it is night!
Please DO NOT block trail if you are walking with others so that faster runners can pass. Stay to the right of the trail when possible.
If you're an experienced trail runner or faster (under 8 minute mile pace) please start near the front.

Q: Is there packet pick up at the event? A: No, unfortunately the park is very dark and it could be raining. Passing out over 2,000 bibs, headlamps and 6000 AAA batteries in the dark is not our idea of a good time. We need the storage, light, dryness and warmth an indoor packet pick up setting provides.
Q: Is this race chip timed? A: Yes, by Rainier Timing with official results posted right here at www.candycanelanerun.com.
Q: Are strollers allowed? A: Only in the1 Mile Run/Walk and the 5K Wave 2! The 5K Wave 1 is reserved for runners only. Please start near the back and make sure wheels are suited for long sections of hard packed dirt trail. Make sure the brakes are in top condition. Trail etiquette: please stay to the right when possible to leave room on the trail for others to pass on the left.
Q: Are dogs allowed? A: No dogs allowed! We allowed it the first year which proved to be dangerous. Event insurance no longer covers claims involving dogs.
Q: Is there special pricing for children and seniors? A: Yes, special pricing is fixed at a lower cost for ages 2-12 and 65+ and the lower pricing is automatically applied based on ages entered during registration.
Q: Can I walk the 5K? A: Yes, only in Wave 2. There is a 1 hour time limit for Wave 2 so please join Wave 3 if you think you will be longer than 1 hour for 5K.
Q: Parking? A: For street parking we recommend University Village! Or parking in the northeast University District neighborhood and lower Ravenna neighborhood. We strongly encourage car pooling and/or public transportation. Alternatively, there is parking garage parking at University Village and we'd recommend taking Lyft to the start line and back from your car or home, use code "CANDYCANERUN" for 20% off a Lyft ride! Of course, you'll have to run with your smartphone if using Lyft or check belongings into the secured Gear Check truck.
Q. Gear Check? A: Yes, we'll have a secured Penske truck near the finish line.
