Come celebrate the winter solstice and Candy Cane Lane with us! The run/walk event is in its 2nd year, and Candy Cane Lane is in its 71st year!
LIVE 1 Mile and 5K Race:
Enjoy a trail run/walk through Ravenna and Cowen Park starting and finishing next to Candy Cane Lane - Seattle's most historic and famous holiday light neighborhood display! There is a one mile out-and-back course and a 2 loop 5K course.
At the finish line feel free to grab candy canes, bananas, water, beanie and finisher medal.
VIRTUAL CANDY CANE LANE 5K:
Run from anywhere and anytime between now and the end of December!
If you registered for the LIVE 1 Mile or 5K event on or before 11/24/2020, please log back into your RunSignUp account and after choosing this race from your account you can pick a wave/corral time from the menu.
Corral times are on a first come first serve basis.

LIVE 1 MILE and 5K RACE DAY SCHEDULE (Dec 19th):
9 AM to 4 PM - Packet Pick Up at Lower Ravenna Park. Race waves are about 5 runners every 10 minutes.
Please DO NOT block trail if you are walking with family so that faster runners can pass. Stay to the right of the trail when possible. We strongly encourage to wear masks when passing other participants and pedestrians.
REMEMBER: the 5K is 2 loops!
BIB PICK UP:
- Arrive to Ravenna neighborhood and park near Ravenna park before your scheduled wave/corral start.
- You will come to the green Rainier Running tent near the entrance to Candy Cane Lane to pick up your bib several minutes before your scheduled race start.
- After the race you can come by the smaller green Rainier Timing tent and pick up candy canes, bananas, water and your medal and beanie.
Q: Is this race chip timed? A: Yes, by Rainier Timing with official results posted right here at www.candycanelanerun.com after the race waves are complete.
Q: Are strollers allowed? A: Yes, Use trail etiquette and please stay to the right when possible to leave room on the trail for others to pass on the left.
Q: Are dogs allowed? A: Yes
Q: Can I walk the 5K? A: Yes
Q: Parking? A: For street parking we recommend anywhere around Lower Ravenna Park neighborhood near the start line. Alternatively, there is parking garage parking at University Village if you are okay with a decent warm up to the park and cool down back to University Village.
Q. Gear Check? A: Not this year.
Q. Is there a charity beneficiary? A: After costs such as permits, insurance, swag, supplies, etc. all proceeds go to University District Food Bank in Seattle, WA!
